Teen arrested for alleged auto theft

By February 11, 2011

Davis police arrested a teenage boy early Thursday on suspicion of auto theft.

Sgt. Ton Phan said the teen was stopped shortly before 3 a.m. after police radar detected him speeding on Russell Boulevard near Orchard Park. As officers made contact with the boy, dispatchers alerted them that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Oakland.

The suspect, a 16-year-old from Yuba City, was lodged at Yolo County Juvenile Hall following his arrest, Phan said.
