The Yolo Crow featured at poetry reading

By From page A4 | May 18, 2014

On Friday, May 23, The Other Voice will feature readers from The Yolo Crow. The group, which is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis, will meet at 7:30 p.m. in library of the church, 27074 Patwin Road. Refreshments and open mic follow the reading.

Eight years ago, a local journal was born around a pizza at Woodstock’s, founded on the need for a community opportunity for writers to share their work. They became The Yolo Crow, a quarterly literary magazine with a mission to provide a friendly, casual environment for new writers, and to publish all genres and all formats.

This month marks their last edition, and The Other Voice will celebrate the contributors and editors in this reading. Participants will include Peter Goblin, Ronald Edwin Lane, Charles Halsted, Beth Suter, Deborah Shaw Hickerson and Shannon DeArmond.
