Bicyclists who registered their bikes with a California bicycle license in 2010 or earlier probably need to renew their registration.
California bicycle licenses issued by Transportation and Parking Services at UC Davis and participating bike shops in Davis are valid until Dec. 31 of the second year after the license is issued. In other words, a license issued in 2010 will have expired last month.
You can check your registration’s status by looking at the sticker labeled “California License Renewal” on your bike. The expiration date will be on that sticker.
A license renewal costs $5 and will be valid through Dec. 31, 2015. A new license is $10.
Bicycle licenses may be purchased on campus at Transportation and Parking Services from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and at B&L Bike Shop, 610 Third St., and at Ken’s Bike-Ski-Board, 650 G St., during regular business hours.
All bicycles operated on the UCD campus must have a current California bicycle registration. For more information, call 530-752-2453 or email dltakemotoweerts @ucdavis.edu.
