Tomatoes and frogs take over Central Park

By From page A15 | June 09, 2013

Square Tomatoes Crafts Fair and Save the Frogs will come together from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Central Park, Fourth and C streets in downtown Davis.

Square Tomatoes, which added 12 new vendors for this weekend, is showcasing the Davis chapter of Save the Frogs. Ecological adviser Michael Starkey will host an information table and give a presentation at noon about frogs and how to save them.

There also will be a frog walk — visitors will search among the booths for photographs of frogs, frog art, written facts and a few tips on a green lifestyle — with prizes. The frog walk mentions frogs with powers that would make an X-Man jealous. The North American wood frog can recover from being frozen in ice.

The Square Tomatoes Craft Fair takes place on the second Sunday of each month in Central Park.
