Tour new Woodland clinic at open house

By From page A7 | May 09, 2014

All are welcome at an open house celebration at the newly opened Hansen Family Health Center, 215 W. Beamer St. in Woodland. The fun runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 9.

CommuniCare Health Centers opened the clinic, named in honor of Dr. Bob and Suzanne Hansen, in mid-March.

Light refreshments will be served, and a short program will start at 6 p.m. Clinic tours will be offered immediately after the program.

The new 21,010-square-foot Hansen Family Health Center replaces the two sites CommuniCare has long occupied in Woodland — the Peterson Clinic located on North Cottonwood Street, which provided primary medical and dental care for the uninsured in Woodland for more than 20 years, and the John H. Jones Community Clinic on Court Street downtown, which housed CommuniCare’s substance abuse treatment and behavioral health services since 2000.

The $9.3 million facility was funded in part by a $5 million grant from the federal government under the Affordable Care Act.
