Tour tickets are sold out, but c’mon and cluck!
The bad news, first. Tickets for the Tour de Cluck: A Bicycle Chicken Coop Crawl are sold out.
The good news: There are plenty of other fun activities for the entire community and out-of-town guests to enjoy on Saturday,the date of the event. Stay tuned for details that will be forthcoming this week.
In the meantime, start forming your flock and practicing your clucking and “cock-a-doodle-do,” because you’re invited to join local luminaries in the “Courage to Cluck” exhibition of poultry prowess.
The event takes place at 9 a.m. on the north steps of the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame at Third and B streets. Claire Black Slotton of First Street Real Estate is sponsoring the fowl affair.
City Council members and candidates, Davis schools staff and Board of Education members and other civic leaders will lead the stream of cluckers to the microphone.
It’s all in good fun; the reward will be an “I Had the Courage to Cluck” certificate of completion and a photo opportunity with one of the giant Tour de Cluck chickens.
