Travel the world with talks at Winters Library

By From page A3 | May 10, 2013

Strap on your virtual seatbelt and settle in for some vicarious adventure with the Armchair Travel Series presented by Winters Friends of the Library. “Visit” exotic locales as Winters residents share slides and stories from their travels to the far corners of the globe.

The series continues at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, with presentations on Croatia and Sweden. Pat Thompson will speak about her trip to Croatia last year. Croatia, formerly part of Yugoslavia, is at the crossroads of Central Europe, the Balkans and the Mediterranean. Garry Douglas and Stephanie Myers will discuss their travels around Sweden last summer.

The series will continue on June 13 with slides and talks on Peru by Linda Glick and Elliot Landes, and on Tibet by Cedar Seegar.

The talks will begin at 7 p.m. at the Winters Community Library, 708 Railroad Ave. There is no charge for the events but donations will be accepted with gratitude.
