By From page A3 | January 20, 2012

Central Park Gardens begins the new year with two free workshops on pruning on Saturday at the gardens, near the corner of Third and B streets in downtown Davis.

From 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Master Gardener Dan Rott will cover dormant pruning of fruit trees, demonstrating the pruning techniques that will preserve the health and fruit-bearing potential for a fruit tree.

From 11 a.m. to noon, Master Gardener Linda Parsons will demonstrate rose pruning and the care of roses “from A to Z.”

For more information, call Peg Smith at (530) 756-8409. In the event of rain, a status notice will be posted at www.centralparkgardens.org or call (530) 756-8409 for a recorded message.
