Two people were hospitalized following weekend crashes in the Davis area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Marcy Ann Kennedy, 35, of Citrus Heights, struck a guard rail shortly before 11 p.m. Friday when her Ford Focus ran off eastbound Interstate 80 west of County Road 32B, Officer Bryan Konvalin said. She was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento after complaining of pain.

CHP officers also responded at 3:35 a.m. Sunday to County Road 31 west of Road 95, where an eastbound Subaru Outback had run off the road and struck a tree, Konvalin said. A passenger, 19-year-old Erik Christopher Lomeli of Davis, was taken to Sutter Davis Hospital for treatment of a head contusion.

Driver Elise Thien Nga Nicolas, 19, of San Jose, complained of pain but refused medical aid at the scene, Konvalin said.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
