Woodland police are seeking a man who injured two people while wielding a machete early Sunday morning.

Sgt. Steve Sexton said officers were dispatched at about 2:15 a.m. to Woodland Memorial Hospital, where the 23- and 24-year-old victims were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. One man had been wounded in the head, the other in the hand while wrestling the machete away from the suspect.

The assault took place in the parking lot of the Woodland Oaks Apartments, 724 Cottonwood St., sometime between 1 and 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Sexton said. The suspect was described as a young Latino male, 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds, wearing dark jeans and a white hooded jacket.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Woodland Police Department at 530-661-7800.
