A new short picture history of UC Davis is being released this month, and authors Dennis Dingemans and Ann Foley Scheuring will give a presentation at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Avid Reader bookstore, 617 Second St. A second book signing and illustrated overview of the book will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hattie Weber Museum of Davis, 445 C St., in Central Park.

“University of California, Davis” is the latest publication in the Campus History Series of the Arcadia Publishing Company. The 128-page book is a historical picture album that covers most of the century-long development of the UCD campus, showcasing the achievements of the University Farm that became a world-class research and educational institution.

The book contains more than 200 pictures and 16,000 words of text that follow the chronological development of the campus, recognizing as well the traditions of student life and the international connections of faculty and staff. It is available for purchase in the UCD and other local bookstores.
