UC Davis honors local educators

The UC Davis School of Education will host a ceremony celebrating its 10th anniversary and honoring local educators on Tuesday, May 21, at the Activities and Recreation Center Ballroom. Jack O’Connell, former California superintendent of public instruction, will be the guest of honor.

Honorees include:

* Outstanding Students: Gianna Zappettini, credential program, 2013, and Orlando Carreón, Ph.D. candidate;

* Rising Star Alumna: Gatee Esmat, credential program 2007, master’s degree 2009;

* Outstanding Faculty: Douglas Minnis, professor emeritus;

* Distinguished Alumnus: Daniel D’Agostini, bachelor’s degree 1971, credential program 1972;

* Distinguished Alumna: Rozanne Helms, bachelor’s degree 1976, credential program 1977; and

* Outstanding Education Advocates: Sandi Redenbach, bachelor’s degree 1972, credential program 1973; and Ken Gelatt, bachelor’s degree 1967, credential program 1968.
