Professors of psychology at the UC Davis Center for Mind and Brain will give a series of three free talks next month about infant development and how infants learn. The talks will take place at Nana and Company, a resale children’s boutique and parent resource center at 141 N. First St. in downtown Dixon.

Each class will start at 9 a.m. and end at 10 a.m., followed by refreshments and conversation afterward until the store opens at 10:30 a.m. Planned are:

* Wednesday, Nov. 7: Atypical development; “what to look for,” or, put another way, what to worry and not worry about, presented by Susan Rivera, professor of psychology at the UCD Center for Mind and Brain and the MIND Institute;

* Wednesday, Nov. 14: Language development and impact, including multilingualism in the household, presented by Katharine Graf Estes, assistant professor of psychology at the UCD Center for Mind and Brain; and

* Wednesday, Nov. 28: What (and how) infants learn from the world around them, and what parents can do to facilitate learning, presented by Lisa Oakes, professor of psychology at the UCD Center for Mind and Brain.
