UCD visitors can make an elderberry flute Sunday

By From page A3 | February 21, 2013

People of all ages will learn how to make and play a Native Californian elderberry flute at a free two-hour workshop beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday in 146 Environmental Horticulture at UC Davis.

East Bay Regional Parks docent Antonio Flores will talk about the culture of flute-making and also about the endangered elderberry beetle. All materials will be supplied, but participants are asked to bring a sharpened pocket knife. Adults will need to supervise their young children.

The event is free and parking is free. The closest parking lot to 146 Environmental Horticulture is Visitor Parking Lot 5. For more information, call 530-752-4880 or arboretum75th.ucdavis.edu.
