Farmers market coming to UCD health campus

Beginning May 16, the UC Davis Health System will host a weekly farmers market each Thursday until Oct. 31.

The market will operate from 3 to 7:30 p.m. in parking lot 12, at the intersection of 45th and Y streets in Sacramento. Free parking will be available at Shriners Hospitals for Children.

In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, grass-fed beef, eggs, cheeses and baked goods, the market will feature music and other entertainment, cooking demonstrations and UCD staff-provided health and wellness activities and information.

BeMoneySmartUSA, a local nonprofit specializing in providing youth with financial, business and career-education programs, will operate the market. A portion of the proceeds from the market will support financial literacy programs for students, according to a news release from UCD.
