The UC Davis Arboretum invites fans of good writing and beautiful gardens to enjoy a reading by poets Andy Jones and Bob Stanley at noon Thursday, April 26.
Jones is a lecturer in the UCD University Writing Program. He is faculty adviser to the undergraduate journal of creative writing, Nameless Magazine, and in 2006 he was named Educator of the Year by ASUCD. He hosts “Dr. Andy’s Poetry and Technology Hour” on KDVS radio.
Stanley is the current poet laureate of Sacramento, a professor at Sacramento State University and president of the Sacramento Poetry Center. In 2009, he edited the collection “Sometimes in the Open,” an anthology of poems by 65 poets laureate from around the state.
The free event will take place at the Wyatt Deck on Old Davis Road next to the Arboretum redwood grove. Parking is available for $7 in Visitor Lot 5, at Old Davis Road and A Street.
