IHOP: Eat pancakes, help kids

By From page A3 | January 31, 2013

On Friday, the International House of Pancakes plans to raise money for the UC Davis Children’s Hospital to mark “national pancake day.”

Diners at IHOP’s Sacramento area locations will be encouraged to donate what they would have paid for a short stack of buttermilk pancakes to the Children’s Miracle Network, of which UCD is the local affiliate hospital. IHOP is planning other related promotional events for Tuesday.

Last year, the pancake day fundraiser attracted nearly $85,000 in donations. When paired with other IHOP partnerships, $100,000 was donated, according to a news release.

Also Friday, IHOP will hold a drive-through pancake event near the circular driveway at the entrance to the UCD Medical Center, near X and 45th Streets, from 6 to 10 a.m., for children’s hospital patients.
