Did you know there are more microbial cells in and on us than human cells? Or that our buildings — from hospitals to homes to stores — and every nook of our planet harbor thriving ecosystem of fungi, bacteria, viruses and other entities we generally ignore?
At a free public event dubbed “An Evening with the Genome Center,” world-renowned researcher Jonathan Eisen will discuss how new tools of genomics have revolutionized our ability to understand the roles microbes play from our guts to our buildings to our planet.
Eisen’s talk begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Pence Gallery, 212 D St. in downtown Davis.
