The LInux Users Group of Davis will host Intel intern Bryan Bell, who will give a talk Monday on “Writing a Compiler in Haskell and LLVM.” His talk runs from 7 to 9 p.m. in Wickson Hall, Room 1017, at UC Davis.
The event is free and open to the public. No RSVP is necessary.
“Why would you want to write a compiler? How do Haskell and LLVM make compiler writing easier and less error prone?” a news release said. The presentation will cover why compilers are important, a short high-level introduction on Haskell and LLVM, and how Haskell and LLVM make it easier to write a compiler.
Bell is a graduate intern at Intel. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from UCD, and is working on a master’s in computer science at Sacramento State. His interests are programming languages, compilers and computational geometry.
