UC Davis students, alumni, staff and community members are invited to the campus’ annual Pajamarino celebration on Friday to help kick off the university’s Homecoming weekend.
Pajamarino, which is hosted by the Cal Aggie Student Alumni Association, begins at 5:45 p.m. at the Amtrak station at Second and H streets.
Pajamarino is one of UCD’s oldest traditions, dating back to 1912, when students first sneaked out of their dorms in their pajamas to welcome alumni returning on the train back to campus for Homecoming weekend.
This year’s event will feature live performances from the Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh, the Spirit Squad and Dance Team as well as student performers, including the Bakuhatsu Taiko Dan Drummers, the Lounge Lizards, the Spokes and the Afterglow.
There will be a pie-eating contest, face painting, a pajama parade and a creative PJs contest. Light refreshments will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
