An evening of Japanese food, drink and entertainment Tuesday will benefit the UC Davis Children’s Hospital Pediatric Heart Center.

The ninth annual California Premium Sake Fest, hosted by the North American Food Distributing Company, will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel at 2001 Point West Way in Sacramento.

Taiko drumming, a sake barrel breaking ceremony and a sushi-making contest are planned. Food and drink tastings will take place throughout the evening.

Judy and Harley Inaba, owners of the company, started Sake Fest to promote awareness of pediatric heart abnormalities and celebrate the recovery of their son, who was born with transposed arteries and required cardiac surgery early in his life, according to a news release.

Tickets are $70 per person. To attend, download an order form at http://www.nafdc.com and fax it to 916-373-1124, attention Judy, or call Judy Inaba at 916-373-1111, ext. 120. Guests must be at least 21 years old.
