Tom Mueller will celebrate the world release of his new book, “Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil,” on Tuesday at UC Davis. A reception and book-signing will follow his presentation at 5:30 p.m. at the UCD Conference Center.

Mueller received wide acclaim for his 2007 New Yorker article “Slippery Business: The trade in adulterated olive oil.” Kirkus Reviews describes Mueller’s book as “engrossing history, vivid contemporary reporting and a cogent call to action.”

The book event is free and open to the public, and is presented by the UC Davis Olive Center.
