South Indian classical music showcased

A lecture-demonstration by Sikkil Gurucharan, considered one of the pre-eminent performing artists of South India, will kick off the UC Davis Religious Studies Program’s third annual India Studies Lecture Series.

Gurucharan will demonstrate and talk about South Indian classical music at 6 p.m. Friday, March 9, and give a concert with a violinist and a percussionist thereafter in the Art Annex on the UCD campus. A reception at 5:30 p.m. precedes the talk. Admission is free.
