Studio 301, a Davis-based theater troupe, will present “Rent,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning rock opera by Jonathan Larson, Thursday through Sunday at UC Davis’ Wyatt Pavilion.

The curtain time is 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $16 general and $14 for students and may be purchased at the Freeborn Hall ticket office or by calling (530) 752-1915.

“Rent” tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create in New York City under the shadow of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It addresses friendship, love and loss through powerful, rock-based music.

This production is directed by Mitchell VanLandingham with musical direction by Elizabeth Tremaine and features a cast, crew and band of UCD undergraduate and graduate students, past and present.
