A network outage caused the UC Davis community to lose access Internet services for hours over a two-day period, campus officials said.
UCD News Service spokesman Andy Fell said the problem, which affected only the Davis campus, began at about noon Friday and affected both email and web services.
Those services appeared to be restored as of Friday evening, but were interrupted again during the night, Fell said. The problem, not as widespread during the second outage, was resolved for good by about 1 p.m. Saturday.
The cause of the outage remains under investigation but appears to have been triggered by an “internal issue” with the campus’ data storage system, according to Fell.
