By From page A20 | June 03, 2012

UC Davis professor Stephen M. Wheeler, who teaches urban design and sustainability, will read from his provocative new book, “Climate Change and Social Ecology,” from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the De Carli Room in the UCD Memorial Union. The reading is spnosored by the Center for Regional Change.

“This is a fresh and creative look at what it will take to tackle climate change, and Stephen Wheeler does not pull his punches,” reviewer Tim Beatley wrote. “Technical fixes and superficial policy adjustments will never be enough in the end — what is needed is no less than social transformation, social evolution, rapidly induced.”
