By From page A6 | June 30, 2013

Local residents are invited to lace up their running shoes and hit the track on the Fourth of July to support the Woodland Schools Foundation.

Three distances are offered: a 5-mile run starting at 7:30 a.m. ($35 registration fee), a 5K run/walk starting at 7:45 a.m. ($30) and a 1-mile run/walk also starting at 7:45 a.m. ($25).

Registration is available online at www.woodlandschoolsfoundation.org/july-4th-runwalk; at Ludy’s Main St. BBQ on Wednesday, July 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.; or at the Pioneer High School track, 1400 Pioneer Ave., on Thursday from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m.

The 5-mile run and 5K run/walk take participants through neighborhoods on asphalt streets and paved sidewalks. The 1-mile run/walk is around the high school campus and track. Runs start and finish at the track. Chip timing is by Synergy Race Timing.
