Virtual public school hires site adviser

By From page A3 | August 14, 2014

California Connections Academy @ North Bay has hired Leslie Dombek to be the online school’s first site administrator. The tuition-free public charter school serves students in grades K-12 who live in Yolo, Colusa, Glenn, Lake, Mendocino, Napa and Sonoma counties. It features a flexible online curriculum taught by state-credentialed teachers.

“Having been a teacher with Connections Academy for nine years, I’ve had an opportunity to experience how students succeed in the virtual school environment due to the flexibility to work one-on-one with their teachers at their own pace,” Dombek said in a news release.

“I look forward to working with the teachers and staff in the North Bay to provide yet another school choice option for families in California.”

As site administrator, Dombek will supervise teachers, administrators, and counselors. Previously, she taught at the Capistrano Connections Academy.

California Connections Academy @ North Bay opened earlier this year. Other California Connections Academies include Capistrano Connections Academy in Southern California, Central California Connections Academy and California Connections Academy @ Ripon, which serves students in Sacramento, San Joaquin and surrounding areas.
