The Cache Creek Nature Preserve west of Woodland will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
Guests are invited to take an audio tour of selected sites on the preserve grounds. Participants can check out a listening device and hear stories from five different presenters on various aspects of the preserve history as they move from site to site.
This audio tour is part of the recently completed Restore/Restory project, a collaborative effort between the Cache Creek Conservancy and UC Davis Art of Regional Change to document a people’s history of the area.
The public is also welcome to hike the trails, observe the wetlands and discover the flora and fauna that abounds in this area. Picnic tables are available, but guests should bring their own drinking water.
The preserve is at 34199 County Road 20 in Woodland. For more information, call 530-661-1070, email gmartin@cachecreekconservancy.org or visit www.cachecreekconservancy.org.
