The Yolo County Visitors Bureau has published two new guide maps for visitors: “Winters Map & Guide” for the city of Winters, and “Wines of Yolo County,” covering wineries, tasting rooms and events.
“The new maps are significant upgrades from our previous versions,” said Alan Humason, executive director of the Yolo County Visitors Bureau. “They are twice as large, with much more content and information for visitors to find their way around and enjoy themselves.”
The Winters guide includes all the restaurants in town, events throughout the year, plus shopping, entertainment, wine-tasting and gallery information. The map highlights the downtown core, with business locations clearly identified. Addresses, phone numbers and websites also are included.
The “Wines of Yolo County” map features every winery and tasting room in Yolo County, plus details on what wines each vintner produces.
“People will be able to find lots of petit sirah, but they may be surprised to discover, for example, excellent sparking viognier at Capay Valley Vineyards.”
The map pinpoints locations; addresses, phone numbers and websites are included as well. The map also has selected wine-related events, “other places to taste” such as RootStock in Winters and Vini Wine Bar in Davis, and a complete listing of Yolo County hotels and inns.
The new guides are available at the YCVB Visitor Center at 604 Second St. in downtown Davis; the Winters Chamber of Commerce office at 11 Main St.; and the Woodland Chamber of Commerce office at 307 First St. Both guides are free. They are available for download at www.yolocvb.org.
