Website gets a new look

By From page A2 | July 12, 2012

The Davis Enterprise website gets a new look today, featuring revamped categories, an intuitive navigation bar and the option to purchase high-quality images directly from the site.

Every story in the paper will appear online, together with others of its kind under the same, familiar categories from the print edition. Pull-down menus have been replaced by navigation links that scroll instantly to the relevant section, without having to reload the page.

If you’re looking for a story you saw before, a search window at the top of the page will mine the archives for anything on a particular topic — just type and go. Or, for some leisurely browsing, every page from the print edition is available as a jpeg file.

The expanded gallery section will feature every photo by Enterprise photographers in high resolution, all available to purchase from the website.

The site also will feature breaking news via tweets and a “Live coverage” component.
