By From page A3 | March 09, 2014

A 63-year-old Sacramento woman was killed last week when a big rig collided with her vehicle near the Yolo County Airport west of Davis, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP reports indicate the woman was traveling westbound on County Road 31 near Road 95 at about 10:20 a.m. Thursday when the eastbound big rig drifted into her traffic lane, striking the left front of the woman’s Honda CRV. Both vehicles crashed into drainage ditches following the collision.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt-force injuries, while the big rig driver, a 42-year-old Fairfield man, was transported to Sutter Davis Hospital with minor injuries, the CHP reported.

Yolo County coroner’s officials had not released the woman’s name as of Friday afternoon. The incident remains under investigation.
