Woman robbed at gunpoint

By February 13, 2011

Closing time at a Woodland lounge turned frightening early Saturday when the manager was robbed at gunpoint, police said.

Woodland police Sgt. Steve Guthrie said the incident occurred at the Corkwood Lounge, 154 W. Main St., where the female manager called police at 1:45 a.m. to report the robbery.

She told police that the suspect entered the business, put a gun to her head and demanded money, then locked the woman in the bathroom before fleeing on foot. The manager, who was not injured, was able to free herself from the bathroom and call police.

The robber was described as a Latino male, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and a mask.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the Woodland Police Department at (530) 661-7800 or (530) 666-2411.
