Women in the Hebrew Bible are subject of OLLI class

Former Sacramento State humanities and religious studies professor Robert Platzner will teach Women in the Hebrew Bible at Congregation Bet Haverim in conjunction with the UC Davis Extension’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Registration is $55 for those currently enrolled as an OLLI member. Membership is $20. The class will meet from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, Feb. 4-25. Congregation Bet Haverim is at 1715 Anderson Road.

Platzner taught at Sacramento State for more than 30 years and specialized in courses dealing with the Hebrew Bible and film aesthetics. He is co-author of “The Old Testament: An Introduction to the Hebrew Bible” (McGraw-Hill, 2008), and has contributed two chapters to a recently published history of world religions.
