A Woodland police officer responding to a call was injured Tuesday morning when his car collided with a pickup truck.
Lt. Anthony Cucchi said the officer was dispatched shortly before 7 a.m. to reports of another officer needing assistance at an alarm call. He proceeded “code three” — lights and sirens activated — westbound on Gibson Road in a marked sport-utility vehicle.
At the intersection of West Street, the officer collided with a northbound pickup, then came to rest in the front yard of a home on the northwest corner of the intersection, Cucchi said.
The officer was treated for a non-life-threatening injury and released, Cucchi said. The crash is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
