The Woodland Police Department is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of vandals who damaged dozens of young trees on County Road 102.

Sgt. Steve Guthrie said the city-planted trees and saplings were either uprooted or broken sometime between late Saturday and early Sunday morning on County Road 102 between East Gibson Road and Farmers Central Road.

Thirty-six of the trees were able to be replanted, but losses from the destroyed trees were estimated at $8,500, Guthrie said.

The case is being investigated as a felony vandalism incident, Guthrie said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Woodland Police Department’s investigative division at (530) 661-7800.
