Woodland teen wounded in shooting
An 18-year-old Woodland man was shot in the leg at about 8:40 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Donnelly Circle in Woodland, police reported. As police responded to multiple reports of gunshots, they saw the victim get into a car that immediately left the area, police Lt. Anthony Cucchi said.
About 10 minutes later, officers were dispatched to Woodland Memorial Hospital for a report of a man suffering a gunshot wound. Officers found the 18-year-old victimwith a traumatic, but not life-threatening, wound to his lower right leg. The teen was taken by ground ambulance to Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael for further treatment.
This incident is under investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Woodland police at 530-666-2411. Callers may remain anonymous.
