Wristbands remember Scott Heinig

By April 21, 2011

Amelia Needham, a Davis Athletic Club staff member, takes orders Tuesday at the club for rubber wristbands bearing Scott Heinig’s famous saying, “How great is life today?” Heinig, 22, a 2006 Davis High School graduate, died Sunday from a head injury suffered in a fall.

The local baseball standout was a longtime member of the athletic club “and a dear friend,” Needham says.¬†Each wristband costs $20; proceeds will be donated to the Heinig family. Hundreds have already been ordered, she says.

In addition, club staffers are collecting notes with encouraging words for the Heinig family, and “everyone’s favorite memories of Scott,” Needham adds.

The club is at 1809 Picasso Ave. For more information, call (530) 753-5282.
