Care planning workshops will begin Thursday

Yolo Adult Day Health Center will present its popular four-part “Care Planning: A Part of Aging” workshop beginning Thursday. Meetings will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Yolo Adult Day Health Center, 20 N. Cottonwood St. in Woodland.

Advanced care planning enables one to be better prepared for what lies ahead in caring for one’s self or a loved one. If a person has an incident or is diagnosed with a medical condition, one should consider developing a plan to deal with the issues that may occur and to become aware of the options available to make informed decisions.
The first session will be “Advanced Care Planning.” It will cover gathering information about a person’s family and support system; planning for emergencies; aging at home; and important papers and information needed.

Session two, “Health Information,” will be April 24. Session three, “Legal and Financial Planning,” will be May 1, followed by session four, “Final Arrangements,” on May 8.

Refreshments will be served. There is no cost, but donations for materials are appreciated. Contact Peggy Phelps for registration information at 530-666-8828 or [email protected] or peggy.phelps@dignityhealth.
