Community members invited to join the Yolo Audubon Society on a bird-watching trip to Bolinas Lagoon and Five Brooks Ranch in Marin County on Saturday, Jan. 11.
For a mid-winter change of pace from the Central Valley, this trip to the southern Point Reyes area is sure to satisfy. Trip participants should get excellent looks at water birds such as many types of ducks, egrets and gulls. The party also should encounter land birds such as woodpeckers and thrushes.
Trip leader Joan Humphrey plans to make many stops along the way from Davis to Bolinas, including a wildlife art gallery.
Participants should plan for a full-day trip. The leader will meet participants at 6:30 a.m. at The Marketplace shopping center, 1411 W. Covell Blvd. in Davis.
Humphrey says the trip will be canceled in the event of heavy rain. Pose any questions to her by calling 530-756-9531.
The Yolo Audubon Society is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering an appreciation of birds and other wildlife through educational programs and field trips, bringing conservation issues to public awareness, and acting to preserve Yolo County bird life and habitat.
