Yolo Audubon walks Davis’ West Pond

By From page A4 | September 12, 2013

All are invited to join the Yolo Audubon Society and the Friends of West Pond for a two-hour birding and botanizing walk Wednesday, Oct. 2, along the West Pond in Davis. This field trip is free to the public. The West Pond area is a comfortable locale for birding, with level paved paths.

The walks take place at 9 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. The group meets at the greenbelt gazebo on the west end of Isle Royale Lane.

Participants should plan to walk or stand for two hours, but they may leave the walk at any time. Please bring binoculars and water. The walk is approximately one mile on flat paths of the greenbelt; benches are located along the path, and bathrooms are available at the UC Davis medical building at the north end of the greenbelt.
