Yolo County CASA will hold orientations every Thursday at noon and the last Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. in its offices at 724 Main St., Suite 102 in Woodland.
The agency trains, screens and supports volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the foster care system. After successfully completing a 30-hour training and rigorous background screening, volunteers are appointed by the juvenile dependency court judge to advocate for a child in the foster care system.
CASAs enjoy spending time with the child they’ve been appointed to, talk with other professionals and caregivers in the child’s life, and advocate for that child’s best interests in court. Every child who has a CASA volunteer knows they have a committed, caring adult helping to ensure that their voices are heard and their needs are met.
