Yolo County plans holiday closures

To save money because of ongoing state and local budget shortfalls, Yolo County will close some of its offices over the holidays. Staff members take their vacations during this period, or schedule time off without pay.

The University of California Cooperative Extension office will be closed Dec. 17-Jan. 1, and Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Services will be closed Dec. 21-Jan. 1. The General Services Parks Division will be closed Dec. 24-28.

The following departments will be closed Dec. 24-Jan. 1: Agriculture; Assessor; Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax Collector; County Administrator’s Office (includes Human Resources and Clerk of the Board divisions); Elections; Health Department’s Environmental Health Division; General Services’ Purchasing, Courier and Graphics divisions; Library administrations and all branches; and Planning & Public Works.

The following departments will be closed Dec. 24-Jan. 2: Public Guardian/Public Administrator; Health Department’s Women, Infants and Children Division (closed Dec. 24, 27, 29, 30 and Jan. 2).

The Health Department’s California Children Services Medical Therapy Unit and Immunization Clinics will be closed Dec. 24-Jan. 4.
