Former Davis resident Alfred Donald Cardoza, 81, of Grants Pass, Ore., passed away Feb. 12, 2013, at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born June 28, 1931, in Tracy to Alfred and Catherine Cardoza, and graduated from high school in Tracy in 1951. Alfred served in the United States National Guard. On Jan. 7, 1951, he married Avis Chapel in Tracy.
Alfred worked for Mobile Chemical in Woodland for 15 years, and owned and operated Rainbow Worm Farm in Davis for 30-plus years. In June of 2008 he and his wife moved to Grants Pass. He enjoyed building RC planes, traveling in his motorhome and spending time with family. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Grants Pass.
In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter and son-in-law Diana and Bob Dixon of Grants Pass; son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Dru Cardoza of Woodland; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18 at Stephens Family Chapel, with Deacon Bob Chapin of St. Anne Catholic Church officiating.
