Benjamin Boyce Davis, Ph.D.

Oct. 10, 1976 – July 29, 2014

Dr. Benjamin Boyce Davis passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, after living nearly six years with ALS and autoimmune neuropathy. He leaves behind his wife Madokah Itoh; two children; his parents, Drs. Bill and Wendy Davis; three brothers; and many well-loved family and friends.

He gifts the world important research conducted at UC Davis that someday could lead to treatments for chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD).

Ben grew up in Winters and lived in Vacaville. He was an all-around athlete, and made a friend of everyone he met.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Winters Community Center, 201 Railroad Ave. Donations can be made in Ben’s memory to the American Thoracic Society Foundation or the ALS Association Foundation.
