Bette M. Wallace of Davis passed away on March 1, 2011. She was 88 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Delbert Wallace. Bette is survived by sons Kim (Sandy), John (Carol) and Randy (Meg). She was a devoted grandmother to Darcie, Colin, Katie and Andy, and her great-grandchildren Kimberly, James, Elizabeth, Poppy and Olive.

Bette was born in Hibbing, Minn., and moved to Detroit as a young girl. As a youngster, she enjoyed performing and teaching tap dance and following her older brothers’ band. During WWII, Bette served in the U.S. Coast Guard; she was very proud of her military service. Bette and Del raised their family in Detroit and San Jose, retiring to Davis in 1998.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor at the family home in Davis on Saturday, March 19, 2011. Contributions to Yolo Hospice are welcome.
