Carlton Hope Meister

March 3, 1920 – July 8, 2014

Carlton Hope Meister died July 8, 2014 at the age of 94. He was born March 3, 1920, in Buffalo, N.Y., and served in the U.S. Coast Guard before spending most of his life in law enforcement.

He was a police lieutenant for the Santa Rosa Police Department from 1948 until retirement in 1965 and was Vice President and Chief Special Agent for Wells Fargo Bank’s Fraud Division, retiring in 1981. He was past president of the International Police Association Region 41, and served on a security team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

Carlton also enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dorothy Meister, and their children, Kathy Meister and Rick Meister.

A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. July 30, 2014, at the University Retirement Community, 1515 Shasta Drive in Davis. Burial will follow in the veterans section of Monument Hill Memorial Park in Woodland.
