Craig Faria passed away on July 21, 2011, in Sacramento. He was 57 years old.
Craig was born on Sept. 11, 1953 in Merced, Ca., to Dick and Bonnie Faria. In 1962, the family relocated to Davis, where Craig attended school, eventually graduating from Davis High School in 1971. He worked at Valley Records & Media in Woodland until its closing, after which he worked as a fork lift operator at Pioneer Hi-Bred. He was a member of the Calvary Chapel of Woodland, and a resident of Yolo County until his passing.
Craig’s passions in life were his daughters, music and his motorcycles. He played drums with numerous bands locally, and toured Korea with his cousin’s band to entertain troops with the USO. He will be missed dearly by his family and many friends.
Craig is survived by his daughters, Kayla Allen and husband Robert of Rocklin, and Elana Faria of Auburn; sisters Cheryl Williams of Davis, and Judi Jahn and husband David of Woodland; brothers Mike Faria and wife Denise of Davis, and David Faria of Woodland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Bonnie Faria of Davis, and his grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, at a venue to be determined. Burial will be private. Donations can be made in Craig’s honor to SJSU Women’s Swimming and Diving: attn: Sage Hopkins—Swimming, 1393 S. Seventh St., San Jose, Ca., 95112.
