David Louis Jacobson of Davis entered his heavenly home on Jan. 24, 2014, joining his beloved wife Delphine. David was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Palo Alto. He attended Princeton, Cornell and Stanford universities and worked for the University of California, Davis for some 40 years as a professor and dean in the history department. Preceding David in death were parents, Louis and Ruth Jacobson, and sister Peggy Wagoner. He is survived by son Fred Millford, sister Polly Kennedy, brother-in-law Roy Wagoner, and many friends and family. Special thanks to his caregivers and Sutter Hospice. Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church 1430 J St. in Sacramento. Graveside service will be at Redwoods Memorial Garden Cemetery, Guerneville, at 1 p.m. Please make donations to Yolo County S.P.C.A. or Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church.
