March 18, 1936 — Dec. 1, 2011
Woodland resident Donald “Dago” Gene Moore Sr. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Dec. 1. He was born in Wann, Okla., and raised in Woodland. He worked for TnC mobile, volunteered for 20 years as a Davis Police officer and retired from PG&E as a mechanic.
He was one of eight children born to the late Claude and Nobia Moore, and the loving husband to Darlene Moore. Dago is preceded in death by his brothers Jack, Bill and Bob Moore. He will forever be remembered by his loving sisters Bethel Gaskill, Pat Horner, Joann Wright and Sandy Moore; beloved children Donnie, John, Billy Moore and Jan Hopkins; and treasured by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with countless other family and friends who were blessed to know him. Special thanks to his “sunshine nurse” Aleah Moore and his angels Bethel Gaskill, Rene Moore, Anna Moore, Ashley Moore, Nick Putnam and Nicole Garcia, and a very special thanks to Yolo Hospice.
Dago touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Willow Oak Station 6, 17535 County Road 97, Woodland.
